Boats of the summer 2023 in the archipelago of Turku and boats also in Tenerife. My favourite racing yacht in Airisto Marina, a famous 8 mR s/y Iroquois racing yacht originated in Canada. Rochester Yacht Club in Toronto. A famous designer Herreshoff designed the yacht. Today the yacht is in Turku racing with other 8mR Classic boats like Iiderim, Vågspel, Katrina and Sphinx. S/y Iroquos home harbour is Åbo Båtvarf in Ruissalo.
There is always an electric atmosphere when getting ready for a sailing race. Here Enkhuizen racing week a few years back.
TENERIFE BOATS 2023
A Pogo 36 is a very fast racing yacht from today. Also sold as a new generation cruiser. A sandwich hull in fiberglass bonded with both Polyester and Vinylester in vacuum process, allowing great weight optimisation. Amarilla Marina, Tenerife 2023
S/y Nauta – a Jeanneau Voyage 12.50 from Tenerife
S/y Nauta is a Jeanneau Voyage 12.50, a fast cruising yacht of its time. The yachts sleek bow lines lead to beamy midships that give you a good living space. Her wide hull bottom form gives good support in between big ocean waves. Stern is modern with easy access.
The hull is made out of directional fiberglass with polyester and strengthened with Aramat Kevlar fibre composite. The hull is hand rolled with bulkheads and stiffeners bonded with fiberglass lamination. Deck and hull joint is also bonded with lamination. Ocean going yacht with solid teak interior. The yacht model was successful and was still in production 10 years later with the brand name Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42
S/y Nauta has solo circumnavigated the globe in 1986 – 1987 – 26.700 sea miles. Don Eloy Garcia was the famous skipper accompanied with his dog Grumete from Los Cristianos in Tenerife. I´m now finishing the task to rebuild the yacht to its glory. The yacht has been maintained also earlier by a devoted skipper Jose Naranjo Perez. We will have the old lady ready for the coming season

You don´t have any stern wave, even in bigger waves and higher speeds. This is due to yahts new transom and new rudder form
Same brand but newer, Beneteau Oceanis 361 Clipper in Airisto, summer 2023. Hull lines are similar, a low freeboard like all Beneteau boats, Clipper has a long cabin all the way to the front deck

The biggest of the word as they have built many times earlier in Meyer yard, in Turku. Icon of the Seas, biggest ocean liner in the world. To be delivered in the end of 2023. Second test sailing period in Airisto takes place this weekend
