Puerto San Miguel and the surrounding areas

Puerto Amarilla Marina is busy today, new restaurant at the end of the pier “El Mirador De La Marina”. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Harbour office has also newly renovated their office space and the staff is more motivated with the daily tasks of cleaning and organizing the areas. Even the old golf carts have found a new task with the Marineros and companies working in the harbour. The new beach boulevard is now ready leading the way around the golf course to the villas.

The busy yard is now taking in big ships for repair. It is a difficult task to fulfill everybody’s needs. The yard needs of course money to run but on the other hand the boaters want a sheltered and tidy harbour for their yachts. The amount and the size of the yachts, moored in Amarilla Marina is rapidly growing after several bad years. The pier end restaurant was a must after two years of absence.

The nearby village behind the harbour San Miguel de Abona has had its changes. The big hotel complex has changed the ownership and is today called Alua, it is for all inclusive fans. The Alua hotel still rents localities for a variety of smaller restaurants and cafe’s. That gives a good variety of simple eating places for yachting people near the harbour
