Technical hints of working methods and materials, where to buy, prizing, etc.
Atlantic Navigator is getting a better stronghold for my sailing adventures in the macaronesian islands.
Calima heats up the environment, a jump in to the sea helps. A fresh water shower is essential in the boat. Short sailing tours help the working days in the heath

Fine sailing trip and tutorial of the yachts instruments with the Naneux sailing yacht
Acclimatize to the heath of the South of Tenerife. Starting with washing the boat from the sand of the Calima. Better to do it after six o’clock in the afternoon when it is somewhat cooler. I try to be ready before the darkness falls at 9 pm.
Next day a carefull planning of the working routine of the coming days
Work between 8 – 12 is possible. Siesta, 12 – 17.30 or shopping the materials between these hours. The heat rises more than + 30 – 35 Celsius. Work continues again 17.30 – 21.00. Darkness falls at 9 pm. and the temperature falls to 25 -27 Celsius

Installations
First I have to install a few Dorado boxes to get humid air out of shower cabinet and the main salon. Inside the boat the temperature is somewhat reasonable during the mid day heat, 28 – 32 celsius.
I’m also installing the original weather station and ships time. These precious instruments were repaired. The original brass instruments have done the circumnavigation with Don Eloy in this famous yacht Nauta
Toilets
Toilets, toilets always toilets in my whole sailing life. Earlier when I sailed charter boats, it was a miracle if the toilets worked one whole sailing trip. This boat has a electric discharge system. It had a problem of some annoying smell
First read the books and the manuals how to do it

Over one meter of pipes was removed. The main reason this time for bad operation was 70 cm too long fresh water intake. The pipes were well above water line and ventilated. Almost 1 m extra of the intake pipe caused too little power in the discharge pump. Now the pump runs good and you can hear the difference

After the changes all bad smell disappeared from this toilet, nice!
Renewing old aluminium rubbing lists

The big job this time was changing an old rubbing list of aluminium outside the hull joint. The reason I wanted to remove the old corroded list was keeping the corrosion away from the aluminium toe rail that is also connecting the deck to the hull with mechanical joint. The screws had corroded with the list, so I decided to grind them away. After that it was easy to remove the list. A fine and powerful tool (battery operated, Worx brand) This small tool was ideal to cut the SS screws. Tool from Leroy Merlin in Adehe, 57 €

New lists, Poly 40mm we got from Blancomar in Santa Cruz de Tenerife Around 700 € . A complete store for boating people. After removing the old lists and cleaning the joint. I actually let the old screws stay there and drilled a guiding hole to the new plastic list. Before applying Sikaflex and new Stainless steel screws this method helped me line up the list. In this manner I let the old screws stay to strenghten the hull joint. I had a perfect guiding line .

Tools needed for the operation, cleaning agent, water and a few tubes of Sikaflex. Water also for the hard working man
It took me three days for one side with the time to fetch things also

The finished Starboard side of the boat
Toerail in aluminium

The aluminium toerail is grained and treated with epoxy putty and aluminium primer paint
